Unplanned wonders are the greatest. ESPECIALLY when shared with old friends.

After a late lunch with J2 & Jas, we found ourselves at the Loose Moose with the unplanned chance to experience a vintage 1978 Glenrothes whisky. I’m no “wh-iskyconnoisseur (or even a lover to be honest) but it was fun and I’m an appreciator of things that have taken time to develop into the things are to become. Much like the best things in life. Much like friendship.

These words are from John Wooden, Head Coach of University of California for over 30 years. Born in 1910, he married his sweetheart at 21 years old and remained married for 53 years until his wife passed away. The words above were given to him by his father as the “Seven Point Creed” upon his grammer school graduation. Below is a TED talk he gave in 2001.

be true to yourself, help others, make friendship a fine art, drink deeply from good books, especially the bible, build a shelter against a rainy day, give thanks for blessings and pray for guidance every day – john wooden
