Finding Wonder 4 of 100

This was a moment captured on a perfect summer’s day on the French Riviera. Riding our bikes along the footpath, these lads caught our attention as they threw themselves fearlessly into the clear waters below. We couldn’t help but stop and watch in wonder and amusement, especially as a couple of the younger boys would walk to the edge and then back away several times before finally making the jump.

Quote is from a piece written in 2008 by one of the founder of GitHub, Tom Preston-Warner, on how he turned down a $300K job at Microsoft to do his own thing. Makes for an interesting read.

In the end, just as Indiana Jones could never turn down the opportunity to search for the Holy Grail, I could no less turn down the chance to work for myself on something I truly love, no matter how safe the alternative might be. When I”m old and dying, I plan to look back on my life and say “wow, that was an adventure, not wow I sure felt safe” – Tom Preston-Warner
