Quote // Mix a little foolishness with your serious plans; it’s lovely to be silly at the right moment – Horace
– HOoraaAhh!!! I am back in internet land!!!
After a truly wonderful adventure across Europe, I have had a few “Uhhhhh ……so you planning on updating your blog any time soon???” from obviously my “avid followers” aka friends and family so now I am finally getting up to date with this dear little project.
The original plan had been to keep doing them while I was overseas but the best laid plans of mice and men fell short when it became too hard to find internet connections as we changed cities every couple of days and then I came down sick as a dog in Hungary, came home and been crashing asleep all over the shop due to jetlag and well……basically I’m only just now in a position to get this thing done!!
And so really, I just enjoyed my holiday 🙂
For friends and family I will also try to post a few more details on travels when I get a chance but in the meantime I’ll be catching up on the inspirations.
This lovely little one comes to you live from the Colosseum in Rome (you can just see it in the background!) – which is appropriate for today’s quote seeing as Horace hails from Ancient Rome 65BC to be precise.
Have to say – I was surprised with Rome. In my head I’d always imagined that all the monuments etc would be situated on the outskirts of the city where tourists would meander leisurely through the ancient ruins, pondering the lives that once lived there, instead they are literally plonked down throughout the city and overrun with tourist groups being led around by tourguides holding all manner of utensils to identify themselves to their groups….umbrella’s waved in the air, little hankies on sticks, flags and “what not” as Amy would say.
Tres bizarre!
And of course….
