Quote // The courage of life is often a less dramatic spectacle than the courage of a final moment; But it is no less a magnificent mixture of triumph and tragedy – John F Kennedy
– Can’t believe it’s been one year + a day since little Asa passed by this world.
A year ago, I was asked to photograph the birth of my dear friends J & R’s baby, however an hour into the labour there were complications and little Asa’s heartbeat was lost, and he was stillborn.
As a friend it was an experience I’ll never forget and I will never fully understand what it was like for you guys as his parents, but holding onto each other and together with God you have taken new courage daily and strengthened as people and grown in compassion.
And now, unbeknownst to me, Mrs R submitted an image from that day (not this photo though) to the National Portrait Photographic Prize and it has become one of the 50 finalists and will be showing in the national gallery in Canberra and touring throughout Australia.
And so little Asa’s story continues….
